Day 11 of 14 Morning Anchor

How You Start The Day Decides How The Rest Of It Goes.

Now, when the morning's chaos, everything after it is harder. Your decisions get worse, your willpower drains quicker, and you spend the whole day reacting to it instead of running it. A good morning doesn't need to be some elaborate hour long routine though. It just needs to be intentional. One small thing before the noise starts, and everything after it changes.

Before Anything Else. One Thing.
Before the phone. Before the noise.

Right, pick one of these and do it as soon as you wake up tomorrow. Before your phone. Before the inbox. Before anybody else's day starts landing on yours.

A Short Walk
A Stretch
A Big Glass of Water
Five Minutes of Breathing
Three Things Written Down

One of them. That's it. Nothing complicated about it and it doesn't need to be impressive.

It just needs to be intentional. Then you make it the thing you do every morning from here, okay?

Then do this

Post which one you've gone for in the group. And if you've made it to day 11, say so, because a lot of people don't and that's worth noticing.

Win The First Hour. Win The Day.

The first hour sets the tone for the next 16. Reach for your phone the second you wake up and you've handed control over to other people before your feet have even hit the floor.

Notifications, bad news, everyone else's problems. Your nervous system's already going and you've not had a glass of water yet.

"You either run the morning, or the morning runs you. And whichever one it is, you'll feel it by lunchtime."

So turn the order round. Do something for yourself first. 5 minutes for you before 5 minutes for everybody else.

Sounds small, doesn't it. It isn't. That's the difference between leading your day and chasing it.

What Happens On Day 15?

Worth thinking about right now, rather than when it's already gone.

Because on day 15 there's no email at 8am. No task. No group. Nobody asking what your steps were.

And what happens after that generally isn't instant. It starts to happen slowly. A missed walk. A skipped workout. A week that felt alright but wasn't quite as sharp as this one.

Then another. And in about 6 weeks you're back roughly where you started, without being able to point at the day it went.

It's not about discipline. You've spent 11 days proving you've got plenty of that. It's that the accountability and structure of having something turn up every day really helped you stay on course.

So the question was never whether you can do this. You've answered that one.

It's what holds it up from day 15.
